Skimming the surface:
Atmospheric Post Black Gaze with clean vocals from Los Angeles.
Inside:
Dense, lush layers of guitars. Shimmering melodies that soar and cascade. Dualing harmonized tremolo leads. Steady chugging rhythm guitars that pulse along this dreamy river of sound.
Natural and warm percussion section that provides the backbone that the atmosphere settles upon.
Vocals reminiscent of Alcest and Novembre. Sombre and beautiful. Lyrics that speak of letting go, remembering better times and losing things that are dear. Great imagery that paints a bleak and hopeless landscape.
Wonderful variety of atmospheric black metal progression mixed with post rock builds and breaks.
Strong, unique production that is clear and has plenty of space to let notes ring and be felt makes for an easy and pleasant listen while providing some challenging and interesting compositions.
Underneath:
A mature and heartfelt outing from a very promising act. Highly recommended for fans of Alcest, Les Discrets, Sylvaine, Novembre ect.
It’s hard for me to have any criticism for something I instantly love and grows more endearing with each listen.
